S-P-S-P-S

Well...This blog is purely dedicated to CARNATIC MUSIC!!!.The greatest ever thing that can happen to the mankind.

The title of the blog is "S-P-S-P-S".Well....these are called "Adhara Shruthi",meaning "BASE NOTES".Any singer,before singing,sings these notes to identify the pitch and also to see where the Adhara Shruthi falls in that octave.Only then any song can be sung.It is like..."bowing in humbleness" to these swaras and thanking them for all the beautiful compositions that have risen out of them.

In Carnatic Music,or Karnataka Sangeetham,as it is favouritely called by the rasikas,S-R-G-M-P-D-N-S are the basic notes.With these notes,composers have created wonders!!!The various combinations of these basic notes,called SWARAS forms what is called a RAAGA.
